dvafoto featured on Wonderful Machine’s blog

The blog I run with Matt Lutton, dvafoto, was recently featured on Wonderful Machine’s blog as part of coverage of Wired’s recent feature on the top photography bloggers around the internet. This feature is mostly an interview with Matt, but I managed to sneak in a few comments, despite no longer being rep’ed by Wonderful Machine. Friend and fellow blogger Rachel Hulin is the other subject of the feature, and she’s always got something interesting to say.

Featured on PDN Photo of the Day – Dec. 3, 2010
My photo of a public service environmental ad campaign in Shaoxing, China, recently included in the Magnum Foundation and Green World Campaign's "Giving Trees" exhibition at 25CPW in New York City, was shown on Photo District News' Photo of the Day site on Dec. 3, 2010. The post served as an announcement for the show and also featured the work of Ruben Reyes, Keryn Huang, and Benjamin Dimmitt.

On the road: Seattle, Washington

I’ll be in Seattle, Washington, starting December 9, 2010. I can be reached by email or phone and am available for assignment.

On the road: Fort Belknap Agency, Harlem, Chinook, and elsewhere on the Montana High Line

Area school teams mascots and logos hang in the gym of Harlem High School in Harlem, Montana.
I'll be heading up to far north-central Montana Dec. 2-5, 2010, for a project I've been working on at Fort Belknap Agency near Harlem, MT. Cell coverage is spotty up there, but I'll be checking email and voicemail periodically. It's been real dang cold up there the past few weeks, but hopefully there's some respite this weekend.

Nominated for PDN30 2011

I’ve been nominated for next year’s PDN30, Photo District News’ annual list of the top new and emerging photographers to watch. I’m not in the finals, just the initial selection, and there will be a few rounds of cuts before the final 30 are announced.

Giving Trees at 25CPW by the Magnum Foundation and the Green World Campaign

An advertisement at a bus stop in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, China, reminds people to care about the environment.

My photo of an environmental public service ad in China has been selected to be part of the Magnum Foundation and the Green World Campaign's exhibition "Giving Trees" at 25CPW, located at Central Park West & W 62nd St. The photo was recently used on the cover of 100Eyes recent issue on China. The exhibition features the work of Bruce Davidson, Gilles Peress, Alec Soth, Steve McCurry, Jim Goldberg, Mark Power, Jean Gaumy, Stuart Franklin, Larry Towell, Martine Franck, Danny Lyon, Werner Bischof Estate, Trent Parke, Peter Marlow, Gueorgui Pinkhassov, John Vink, Harry Gruyaert, Jonas Bendiksen, and selected other photographers (including me) found through a juried open call.
