New section: Recent work

I've just added a section to the website for short edits of my recent work. I'll post here on the news section whenever I update that section. It's where I'll post work that I'd like to let editors know is available, without including it in the main portfolio sections of the site.
New work: Rocky Boy Powwow

While in the US this summer, I spent some time photographing the Rocky Boy Powwow. The work fits in with my ongoing “Not Cloudy All Day” project about contemporary life in Montana. It’s an interesting area: Montana’s smallest indian reservation, one of the youngest communities in the country by median age, and isolated at more than a couple hours from a medium sized city. The area has it’s problems, just as any reservation does, but there are little breaths of hope here and there. There’s a beautiful college on the reservation, infrastructure continues to develop, jobs are appearing, and the powwow seems to get bigger every year.

Neglected to mention that my Montana work, Not Cloudy All Day, was featured in issue #3 of the fantastic web magazine Xaoc from Serbia. Check it out. Nothing but big, black and white double trucks from a number of talented photographers.
New tearsheet: World Magazine, “Getting the Word Out”

Just received a recent tearsheet in the mail from World magazine with my Amity Printing Company story in their summer book issue. A big thanks to photo editor Rob Patete for one of the most pleasant licensing experiences I’ve had. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience or a better layout.

I’ve changed my website’s organization a bit. The old RSS url will quit working in a few days, which means your subscriptions may stop updating. Please update your subscription to the following: http://www.mscottbrauer.com/?feed=rss2&cat=5. If you don’t use RSS, consider doing so. I like using Google Reader, though there are plenty of other options, as well.
